Subsequent to the discussion of the jury the Award of Academician B.M.Pontecorvo of the year 2013 was granted to Professor Luciano Maiani (University of Rome, Italy) for his outstanding contribution to particle physics, in particular weak interaction physics and neutrino physics. The Award will be presented today at the session of the JINR Scientific Council. The laureate will present his scientific report.
