Results of 37th Interregional Computer School

The 37th Interregional Computer School, which took place at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research from 1 to 13 August, ended. The final meeting took place at the JINR Universal Public Library, where the participants of the school presented the results of five training research and engineering projects. This year, the school gathered 64 participants; 30 of them came to Dubna from Kamchatka and Primorsky Krais, the Republic of North Ossetia–Alania, and Rostov Region.
The thirteen-day programme included project work, city and JINR facility tours, lectures by the Institute’s employees, intellectual and sports competitions, along with cultural and educational events. During the final conference, schoolchildren and students presented their developments and shared the results. Among the research areas of the projects were the creation of a foldable house that can be transported in a car trunk, the development of a portable power plant from improvised materials, the study of the trajectories of a swirling sports ball, modelling the movement of a spacecraft from the orbit of a planet to the orbit of its satellite, along with water purification and enrichment with trace elements needed for survival in alien environment.
The organizers thank the representatives of JINR Information Centres who formed teams of participants from different regions of Russia. Deep gratitude from the organizers is expressed to the employees of the Dubna Restaurant, the JINR Universal Public Library, dormitory of the Dubna branch of the Moscow State University, and the Kadyshevsky Physics and Mathematics Lyceum, which ensured the comfort of all participants of the school.
