School Students from St. Petersburg at JINR

On 24 March 2016, a group of school students from the Saint Petersburg Presidential Physics and Mathematics Lyceum №239 arrived at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, where they visited the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions and the Laboratory of High Energy Physics.

FLNR senior researcher A.Artyukh delivered an introductory lecture on the laboratory fields of research, as well as he acquainted the students with the IC-100 and U-400M accelerators. The Nanolab staff member O.Orelovich gave the guests a demonstration of operation of the modern electron microscope.

Specialist of the Research and Experimental Department of superconducting magnets and technologies O.Kunchenko spoke to the visitors about the legendary accelerator – Synchrophasotron, and the NICA collider.
