Workshop on computing for NICA Megascience Project to take place at MEPhI

News, 08 December 2023

On 12 December, the MEPhI–JINR workshop on computing for the NICA Megascience Project will take place in a mixed format at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (NRNU MEPhI). Participants of the meeting will discuss modern IT methods and approaches to the collection, storage, modelling, and physical analysis of experimental data at NICA. Special attention will be paid to creating distributed environments for data processing and storage. In addition, personnel training for the tasks of the NICA Project will be discussed.

NRNU MEPhI staff will talk about the university’s participation in the NICA Project and a new Master’s course at the intersection of particle physics and computer science.

Heads of the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies will deliver information on the MLIT JINR scientific research and on distributed computing in high energy physics.

MLIT, VBLHEP, and DLNP JINR researchers will make reports on the development of a set of programmes for modelling, obtaining, and processing the data of the MPD Experiment; software systems for processing the data of the BM@N Experiment data at the NICA Complex; software for the SPD Experiment; distributed processing and generation of data of the MPD and BM@N Experiments, and the ML/DL/HPC ecosystem of the HybriLIT Platform for developers and training courses.

The event is of interest to the NRNU MEPhI students and postgraduates, who will have the opportunity to meet with the participants of the collaborations of NICA.
