Seminar topic: “Beam lines and their stations for applied research”

Speaker: Georgy Filatov (M. A. Markov Scholarship)

Abstract:

As part of the NICA project, an Innovation Block is being set up, focusing on applied research that requires beam transport and shaping from the accelerators to the target stations for applied research. To do this, new channels are being calculated and built with the engineering infrastructure (including stations, biological shielding and utilities). The channels for applied research are based on the HILAC linear heavy ion accelerator and the Nuclotron superconducting synchrotron. The technical highlights of the beam lines, stations and the SOCHI beam commissioning results are given in this note.
