Seminar topic: «Energy scale calibration of KEDR detector Tagging system using Compton backscattering»

Speaker: Viacheslav V. Kaminskiy (Budker INP, RAS, Novosibirsk)

Abstract:

Tagging system (TS) of KEDR detector is a double focusing magnetic spectrometer for scattered at small angles electrons and positrons; it is embedded into the lattice of VEPP-4M collider (Budker INP, Novosibirsk).

It is intended for two-photon processes study and measures scattered electron energy with resolution ∆E/E0 from 0.05% to 0.1% (E0 is the beam energy).

A method for the TS precise energy scale calibration was developed in the thesis research.

It is based on Compton backscattering of laser radiation on the VEPP-4M electron and positron beams and simulation of the accelerator lattice.
