On 5 – 25 December 2017 a personal exhibition of A.Smirnov, a copyist painter, will be held in the Cultural Centre “Mir”.

Dubna citizens have an opportunity to enjoy works of European impressionists – Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Pablo Picasso – until the end of the year. There is no need to go anywhere to do it, because everyone can just come to the exhibition opening on 5 December at 6.00 PM and enjoy famous paintings copied by A.Smirnov. His name may be familiar to many people. Three years ago, his artistic debut happened. A.Smirnov is almost our compatriot, he was born in Nikolskoye of Tver Oblast. Anatoly I. Smirnov has been copying famous paintings for 17 years already; new millennium became the start of his artistic life. Answering the question, why he only copies paintings, he humbly says that it is too late for him to create his own works, but copying is really involving process for him. To the next question: “Why are you so interested in the works of foreign painters?” – the answer was – “I feel the freedom in them, without any academic boundaries.” Anyway, every creator has his own view on freedom. And what is this view, you can find out at the exhibition.
