IT School at North Ossetian State University — meeting place for Information Centres family

From 29 June to 1 July, North Ossetian State University named after K. L. Khetagurov (NOSU, Vladikavkaz) will host the IV International Summer School for Young Scientists “Modern information technologies for solving scientific and applied problems” on the basis of the JINR Information Centre in the South of Russia. For the first time, in addition to students from southern universities of the country, representatives of the Information Centre of Kazakhstan, as well as students and managers from Russian universities where JINR Information Centres operate (Kamchatka, Vladivostok, Tomsk) will take part in the school’s work.

Programme of the School includes lectures on JINR scientific projects and information technologies developed for solving scientific tasks. Participants will gain experience in solving applied tasks in the fields related to various aspects of megaprojects and data science. Thus, there will be workshops on the organization of data bases, virtualisation and cloud technologies, parallel computing, as well as machine and deep learning for the analysis of highly structured data.

The School is organized jointly by NOSU, the Joint Institute, and the JINR Information Centre at NOSU in the South of Russia. The programme of the event also includes round tables for representatives of the JINR Information Centres at which they will discuss the issues of scientific cooperation and JINR educational programmes. In total, there will be three round-table discussions: “Expertise of JINR IC in the South of Russia at NOSU for the JINR Information Centres”, “Propsects for JINR-KBSU cooperation”, “JINR educational programmes: integration of educational and research components into staff training”.
