JINR got a new patent

Patents, 25 October 2018

The Licensing and Intellectual Property Department of JINR announces that on 11 October 2018, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research received a patent for the invention “Method for determining the spatial profiles of the nuclear and magnetic interaction potentials of polarized neutrons with a layered structure”. The authors of the work are Nikitenko Yuri Vasilievich and Zhaketov Vladimir Dmitrievich.

JINR staff congratulates the authors on receiving the patent for their invention!

More details about the invention

Field: computer equipment.
Substance: usage: to determine the spatial profiles of the nuclear and magnetic interaction potentials of polarized neutrons with a layered structure. Summary of the invention isthat measurementis carried out in a magnetic field that does not polarize neutrons corresponding to four polarization states of neutrons of four neutron transmission intensitiesthrough a magnetic field and four neutron reflection intensities from the gauge structure, while four polarization neutron transmission intensities through a magnetic field and four neutron reflection intensities from the structure under study are measured in a magnetic field that depolarizes the neutrons, four neutron reflection coefficients from the structure under study in the neutrons depolarizing magnetic field corresponding to the neutron spin transitions are determined from the measured neutron intensities in the non-depolarizing and depolarizing magnetic fields, spatial profiles of the nuclear and magnetic interaction potentials of neutrons with a layered structure are determined in a depolarizing magnetic field from the neutron reflection coefficients.
Effect: technical result: providing the possibility of measuring polarized neutrons in a magnetic field of spatial profiles of the nuclear and magnetic interaction potentials of polarized neutrons with a layered structure.
