It should be reminded that due to topical scientific tasks, a project of a new agreement was prepared and signed on 16 April 2019. The implementation of the agreement covers the aims of the national project “Nauka” (lit. “Science”): cooperation of Russian scientific organizations with CERN will extend, new scientific results will be obtained in the fields of fundamental and applied sciences, Russian scientific positions in studied areas will be preserved and strengthened, the scientific potential of Russian scientists who have earlier left Russia and work in CERN will be used to a greater extent.

The signed agreement opens opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation, in particular, with regard to a set of events dedicated to the development of synchrotron and neutron research planned to be implemented under the supervision of the NRC “Kurchatov Institute”.
