NICA: experts met in Dubna

Seminars, 13 April 2017

International Workshop «Simulations of HIC for NICA Energies» was held on 10 – 12 April 2017 in the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics, JINR.

This Mini-workshop shall bring together the creators and practitioners of simulation codes for Heavy-Ion Collisions in the energy domain of the NICA experiments BM@N and MPD as well as those experts who can make essential inputs to these programmes.

Scientists from BLTP and LIT as well as their colleagues from MSU, MEPhI, the Kurchatov Institute, the Yaroslavl State University and the French laboratory Subatech, scientific centers of Germany: GSI, Giessen and Frankfurt Universities, the Wroclaw University (Poland), the Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics (NAS Ukraine), the University of Mateja Bela (Slovakia), the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences (Serbia), the Wigner Research Centre for Physics(Hungary) participated in the Workshop.

The main Physics issues to be discussed concerned the effects and possible signatures of a phase transition of first order, accompanied with the formation of a mixed phase, like particle ratios (in particular K+/pi+), antiflow of protons, baryon stopping signal, flow of clusters, strong electromagnetic fields in relativistic HIC, femtoscopic signals.
