A guest session of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of JINR Member States opened today in the capital of Kazakhstan Astana.

The session was opened by the talk of JINR Director A.N.Sissakian about the implementation of the resolutions of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries and about the main issues of the Seven-Year Plan for the Development of JINR for 2010–2016.

Directors of the JINR Laboratories V.D.Kekelidze, S.N.Dmitriev and A.V.Belushkin will present their talks about the status of the leading scientific projects of the JINR Basic Facilities (NICA/MPD, DRIBs-III, IBR-2M and spectrometers).

Chief Scientific Secretary N.A.Russakovich will acquaint the participants of the session with a draft of the Seven-Year Plan for the Development of JINR for 2010–2016.

JINR assistant director V.V.Katrasev will report about a draft of the JINR budget for 2010 and about a draft of the membership’s fee of the JINR Member States and the financial support of the JINR Seven-Year Plan. Chairman of the Finance Committee A.Tuleushev will present the results of the committee meeting of 29-30 October 2009 to the session participants.

Chairman of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries S.Dubnička will inform the participants about the appointment of elections and the nomination of candidates for the election of JINR Director.

The participants of the session will visit L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The panel discussion “Integration of science, education and innovations as a basis for the sustainable development” is also in the session programme. An excursion to Astana is planned for Saturday.
