Days of NICA in Warsaw

On November 3-7 the "Days of NICA in Warsaw" were held. The event was organized within the framework of the Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of JINR and aimed at involvement of young scientists and students of one of the largest Universities of Poland – the Warsaw University of Technology – into participation in the NICA project (The Nuclotron-based Ion Collider fAcility), being executed in JINR on the basis of the Laboratory of high energy physics within wide international cooperation.

The event was held on the basis of the University. Students, graduate students, the staff of the university, active participants of the project from JINR, and also young scientists from other centers, engaged in researches on scientific subjects of NICA, took part in it.

NICA Days in Warsaw were organized together with the meeting on the researches perspectives (femtoscopy) which are conducted in experiments of STAR (Brookhaven National Laboratory, USA), ALICE and NA61 (CERN), FAIR (Germany) and NICA. Representatives of the NICA project and representatives of all presented experiments, and also students and graduate students of the University made presentations during the meeting.

On November 6 the meeting of the director of JINR Acad. V. A. Matveev with the Vice rector of WUT for Science Prof. Z.Batsevich was held. On the meeting the Cooperation Agreement between JINR and WUT was signed. This contract will allow to intensify cooperation between JINR and WUT, and to involve students, graduate students and young researchers from different faculties of WUT into participation in the NICA project.

"Days of NICA in Warsaw" were organized by the Warsaw University of Technology together with the Joint institute of Nuclear Research.
