Round table: “Italy – Russia. Astrobiology: new ideas and trends in research.”

On 11–12 December 2011, the Italian Embassy in the Russian Federation, in collaboration with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and the Scientific Council for Astrobiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, will hold an Italian-Russian Round table in Dubna “Astrobiology: New Ideas and Trends in Research”. This event will be held as part of the programme of the Science Advisor of the Italian Embassy in the Russian Federation for 2011.

Main objectives of the forthcoming round table are review of cooperation between Italy and Russia in relevant areas of research and promotion of new areas of bilateral scientific cooperation achieving optimal conditions for their establishment.

An important aspect of the upcoming round table is participation of outstanding scientists working in such scientific fields as biology, paleontology, biochemistry, astronomy, astrophysics, geology, etc. This format is designed to provide opportunities for establishing new links between Russian and Italian specialists working in these areas.

The upcoming round table can be considered as one of the highlights of the Year of Russian Culture in Italy and of the Year of Italian Culture in Russia.
