Silicon Tracking System of the BM@N Experiment: Technical Design Report

Publications, 10 November 2020

The JINR Publishing Department issued the Technical Design Report of the Silicon Tracking System as Part of the Hybrid Tracker of the BM@N Experiment.

This document describes the plans for upgrading the BM@N experiment in order to investigate Au + Au collisions up to energies of 4.5A GeV and beam intensities of 20 kHz.

The Hybrid Tracker of the BM@N experiment consists of four stations of the silicon track system (STS) and seven layers of GEM detectors. The document contains the results of physical studies of system parameters, as well as the status STS project. The document describes elements of the construction, parameters of the detectors, and readout electronics.

The STS project is realized in cooperation of institutes from Germany, Russia, Poland, and Ukraine. The detector system will be constructed and installed into the BM@N experiment in 2022 – 2023.
