Summer meeting of the PAC for Particle Physics

The 49th regular meeting of the JINR Programme Advisory Committee for Particle Physics chaired by Itzhak Tserruya is held on 18 – 19 June 2018 in the International Conference Hall, Dubna.

Anatoly Sidorin will inform participants of the PAC PP meeting on the progress towards implementation of the Nuclotron-NICA project. The report on the infrastructure developments including the Nuclotron will be delivered by Nikolai Agapov. V.D. Kekelidze will report on the milestones of the first collaboration meeting of the MPD and BM@N experiments at the NICA Facility. N.A. Russakovich and R. Tsenov will share information on the development of JINR’s strategic long-range plan in the area of particle physics and in the area of relativistic heavy-ion physics and spin physics. The first-day agenda of the meeting comprises also the reports on the BM@N project by M.N. Kapishin and E. Piasetzky. Reports on themes and projects approved for completion in 2018 and proposals for their continuation will continue the programme of the first day.

A proposal of a new project “ARIeL: Physics at future e+e colliders” will be announced. G.D. Shirkov, A.G. Olshevskiy, A.T. Filippov, D.I. Kazakov and A.P. Isaev will make reports and proposals on themes approved for completion in 2018.

The PAC PP programme traditionally includes poster session for young scientists on research in the fields of particle physics, general discussion and adoption of the PAC recommendations.
