Chair of the PAC for Nuclear Physics Valery Nesvizhevsky will speak about the implementation of the recommendations of the previous meeting. Advisor to the Director of the Joint Institute Mikhail Itkis will present the Resolution of the 138th session of the Scientific Council (September 2025) and the decisions of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States (December 2025).
Head of the Gas-Filled Separator Group of the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions Dmitry Solovyev will share news on experiments at the Superheavy Element Factory and the GASSOL Facility. Head of the FLNR JINR Sector No. 3 Nikolay Aksenov will talk about studying the properties of chemical elements at the SHE Factory.
Chief Engineer of the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems Sergey Yakovenko will make a proposal to start the PASTech (technological positron annihilation spectroscopy complex) Project. Head of the DLNP Weak Interaction Sector Mark Shirchenko will present a talk on the progress of the DANSS Experiment on detecting reactor antineutrinos. A presentation by Head of the DLNP Nuclear Spectrometry Sector Alexey Lubashevsky will be devoted to experimental studies on the search for double beta decay.
In addition, scientific talks will be delivered by Head of the FLNR Sector No. 5 Alexey Bogachev (“Reactions of multi-nucleon transfers as a path to the island of stability”) and a senior researcher at the Laboratory of Neutron Physics Pavel Prusachenko (“Measurement of differential and total scattering cross sections of 14.1 MeV neutrons on carbon nuclei: methodological aspects and results”). The first day will finish with a poster session by young JINR scientists.
At the end of the event, on 23 January, members of the Programme Advisory Committee on Nuclear Physics will prepare the PAC recommendations and proposals regarding the agenda of the next meeting, which will take place in the summer.
