All-Russian and International competitions on blue tracks

The XXIII open championship of Russia on swimming among veterans in the category "Masters" which was attended by JINR employees, members of the Club “the 105th element" and the JINR team was held on 24-27 April 2014 in Ramenskoye. 637 people from 50 clubs of 132 cities of Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Kazakhstan and Germany started this year on this major Russian competition.

The team won a record number of medals – 12: 8 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze ones. Igor Morozov became the four-time champion and Irina Mikulina (VBLHEP, JINR) became the three-time champion. Maria Alikina became the champion at the hardest distance of 200 meters of butterfly stroke on her birthday (she also won the bronze at the distance of 100 m breaststroke). Svetlana Gikal (JINR Publishing Department) brought to Dubna silver and bronze awards. A relay quartet consisting of Bourova N., Elkina E., Alikina M. and S. Smirnova (JINR Radiation Safety Department) won silver medals in a hard struggle. The men’s relay team of the club consisting of Morozov I., Bychkov D., Korobov D. and Kuznetsov I. participated in the championship for the first time.





 













The VI Masters swimming championship of the Baltic States "Amber Cup" was held on 2-3 May 2014 in Riga (Latvia). About 170 athletes from seven Baltic States competed in short and medium distances. The Club "the 105-th element" was represented by 5 people, including JINR staff members – members of the JINR swimming team. Members of the Club won 16 awards: 8 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals. Each of swimmers from Dubna became a champion. Svetlana Gikal – a three-time winner, Svetlana Smirnova – twice, Anna Sergeeva, Irina Migulina and Vladimir Kishkin won one award of the highest standard each.
