News, 19 February 2024

From 19 to 23 February, the Joint Institute is hosting the Problems of the Modern Mathematical Physics international conference, organized by the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics at JINR. This year, more than 70 scientists participated in the event.

JINR Vice-Director Latchesar Kostov opened the meeting. Upon greeting the participants, he expressed confidence that the event would serve to further enhance cooperation between scientists from different countries in the field of mathematical physics. Then, Director of the laboratory Dmitry Kazakov made an opening speech. Such events, in his opinion, aim to continue the development of modern science and to preserve international relations.

“I am very glad that today, despite the difficult situation in the world, there are our colleagues from different countries in the audience. I feel that our participation show that science really does bring people together,” BLTP JINR Director said.

Dmitry Kazakov opened the conference with a presentation on “Supersymmetry in particle physics” topic.

During the week, participants will discuss the following topics:

  • mathematical physics;
  • gravitation;
  • integrable systems;
  • supersymmetry;
  • higher-spin theory.

The agenda of the event consists of the main plenary sessions, at which participants make presentations and discuss them. The working languages are Russian and English.
