Program for determining X-ray beam quality characteristics registered
News, 03 July 2025
The JINR Department of Innovation and Intellectual Property announces that on 9 June 2025, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research received a certificate of state registration of a program for assessing ray beam quality based on the X-ray tube spectrum. The author is Ivan Gordeev (LRB).
“Program for assessing the quality of an X-ray beam based on the X-ray tube spectrum”
The program is designed for evaluating the quality of X-ray radiation, determined by the measured or calculated energy spectrum of radiation from an X-ray tube. The program allows determining a set of characteristics responsible for X-ray beam quality: the first and second half-value layers, the uniformity index, the quarter and tenth-value layer, and the average and effective spectral energies for aluminium and copper filters. The characteristics are determined based on the spectrum data entered by a user in a special format. The output of the program is output of information about all the characteristics of the quality of X-ray radiation according to a user-defined spectrum on a computer screen or in a text file. OS: Unix, Windows (Python interpreter compatibility required).
Programming language: Python 3.10 (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy modules)
Program size: 3 MB
Congratulations to the author on receiving the state registration certificate!
