105th anniversary of birth of Academician G.N. Flerov

Today, on 2 March 2018, the 105th anniversary of birth of Academician G.N. Flerov is celebrated. The scientist was one of the JINR founders. It was he who initiated the construction of the U-300 heavy ions accelerator. G.N. Flerov was the founder and the first Director of the JINR Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions.
Several events dedicated to the scientist’s jubilee will be held in JINR:
- On 2 – 3 March 2018, the XXIII Flerov Swimming Competition is held in the “Archimedes” Swimming Pool of JINR
- On 2 March 2018, the JINR Universal Public Library invites to the evening in memory of G.N. Flerov that will take place at 6:00 PM
