131st session of JINR Scientific Council

On 24 – 25 February, the 131st session of the Scientific Council of the Joint Institute will take place in a mixed format. Director of the Institute RAS Academician Grigory Trubnikov will open the event with a report.

Participants of the session will consider the recommendations of the Programme Advisory Committees adopted at the meetings in January 2022. They will be presented by the Chairmen Itzhak Tserruya (PAC for Particle Physics), Marek Lewitowicz (PAC for Nuclear Physics) and Dénes Lajos Nagy (PAC for Condensed Matter Physics).

The session will be continued with the discussion of the new concept of the Seven-year plan for the development of JINR for 2024–2030. JINR Vice-Director Vladimir Kekelidze will report on the development in the fields of particle physics and high-energy heavy-ion physics, as well as information technologies. JINR Vice-Director Sergey Dmitriev will present information about nuclear physics, applied and innovation research within the new plan. Plans in the fields of condensed matter physics and radiobiology for the new seven-year period will be presented by JINR Vice-Director Latchesar Kostov.

Election of the VBLHEP Director will conclude the first day of the event.

On the second day, reports by young researchers recommended by the PACs will continue the agenda of the event.

Participants of the session will listen to the scientific reports on the results of 2021 by a senior researcher at FLNP JINR Yulia Gorshkova “Biohybrid nanocomplexes and their potential application in biomedicine” and Head of the BLTP Sector Alexander Bednyakov “Multiple facets of multiloop calculations”.

The jury’s recommendations will be presented at the winter session of the Council on awarding the B. Pontecorvo Prize, JINR annual prizes for best papers in the fields of scientific research, methodology, research and technology, and applied research, and a diploma “Honorary Doctor of JINR”.

General discussion and adoption of the resolution will conclude the session.
