18th JEMS training programme started

On 5 July 2021, the 18th International training programme for decision-makers in science and international scientific cooperation «JINR Expertise for Member States and Partner Countries» (JEMS-18) started. Representatives of Bulgarian and Russian educational and scientific centres have come to Dubna for participation in the training programme.

The main programme of JEMS-18 is traditionally divided into thematic sections one for each day of the internship: Heavy Ion Physics and Accelerator Technologies; Research with Neutrons and the Nanoworld; Theory, Information, Education; Life Sciences on Earth and in Space; Neutrino. The programme of JEMS-18 will acquaint participants with JINR and its research infrastructure, give them an opportunity to meet specialists and heads of the Institute’s laboratories. The programme is designed in such a way as not only to acquaint participants with the Institute but also to establish scientific contacts, outline new fields for cooperation with JINR and partner organizations.

Active participation of universities has become a distinctive feature of recent training programmes. Representatives of universities of Sofia and Plovdiv, MEPhI, Kabardino-Balkarian State, North Caucasian Federal, and Southern Federal Universities take part in the event. In this regard, the programme of 7 July will be concluded with a round-table discussion of JINR interaction with universities.

JEMS-18 will last until 9 July and will be concluded with a traditional round table with the JINR Directorate at which the results of the training programme will be summed up.
