A new RAS Professor in JINR

On 1 June 2018, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Aleksander Sergeev awarded 114 diplomas to new RAS Professors who had been selected in March.

Igor Valerievich Anikin, Doctor of Physics and Maths, Head of the Sector № 4 “Standard Model” of the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics JINR, received the Diploma of RAS Professor.

I.V. Anikin graduated from the Ivanov State University, the Department of Physics and Technologies of the Faculty of Physics, in 1992. He defended his thesis in the JINR University Centre, a supervisor of the paper was Professor G.V. Efimov.

In 1993, Igor Valerievich joined the BLTP JINR staff as an intern-researcher. In 1996, he became a Candidate of Physics and Maths, and in 2014, defended the Doctoral thesis. I.V. Anikin is a well-known expert in the fields of theoretical physics of high and low energies.

According to the popular among specialists inspirehep.net internet source (that does not take into consideration scientific works with large-scale experimental collaborations), I.V. Anikin has 71 research papers with the general citation index 1089 and the h-index 19. Igor Valerievich worked as a postdoctoral researcher, a visiting researcher and professor at universities and research centers of Germany, France, and Spain.

I.V. Anikin was repeatedly invited to various international conferences and workshops, he also actively participated in organization of international conferences in Dubna. Professor took part in implementation of research projects with the support of RFBR and the Heisenberg – Landau programme (Germany). I.V. Anikin was awarded the first prize of JINR for a series of scientific papers on the study of generalized parton distributions.

RAS Professor – is an honorary title that was established in 2015. It is awarded to scientists conducting scientific (research, scientific and educational) activities in scientific organizations and educational institutions of higher education, for scientific achievements of national or international level, as well as for active participation in implementation of the main tasks and functions of the Academy.

The title is awarded to Russian scientists who are not members of the Academy, as well as to researchers with Russian citizenship working in foreign research centers and universities.
