Guest session of the JINR Committee of Plenipotentiaries was concluded

On 25 – 26 November 2019, a session of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States chaired by Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian Federation at JINR, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the RF M. M. Kotyukov was held in Hanoi, Vietnam. The report by JINR Director Academician V. A. Matveev opened the session.

Participants of the session heard the report on the draft budget of JINR for the year 2020, draft contributions of the Member States for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023. The JINR Committee of Plenipotentiaries was acquainted with the draft budget for the use of the special-purpose funds of the Russian Federation, provided in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and JINR on the construction and exploitation of the NICA complex of superconducting rings for heavy-ion colliding beams, for the year 2020, as well as the draft Strategic Plan for the long-term development of JINR.

Participants of the session considered the milestones of the meeting of the JINR Finance Committee of 21 – 22 November 2019, the draft Regulation of the staff, the audit results of the Institute’s financial activity in 2018, proposals for changes in the membership of the JINR Scientific Council, information about measures taken to form the JINR Directorate.

The agenda of the session included reports by leading Vietnamese scientists and science organizers “The Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology today and tomorrow” and “The present state of research and development in the fields of nuclear energy and the project of a research reactor in Vietnam.”
