JINR scientists will deliver lectures in the frames of Big Break project

A series of JINR online lectures will take place within the framework of Bolshaya Peremena (lit. “Big Break”) project, the largest competition for school students under the auspices of the national project Obrazovanie (lit. “Education”) that gathered more than a million senior school student in 2020.

  • 26 July (Mon) at 4:00 PM, on the opening day of the thematic week dedicated to atomic technologies, the lecture “In search for the limits of the periodic table” will be delivered on the peculiarities of conducting experiments on the synthesis of superheavy elements.

    The lecturer is A. V. Karpov, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Scientific Secretary at the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions.

  • 28 July (Wed) at 4:00 PM, there will be a lecture “Neutrons in ecology” that will present information about the neutron activation analysis and its application to study the impact of nanoparticles of metals on human health, assessment of water objects’ state, and atmospheric fallout of heavy metals.

  • 30 July (Fri) at 4:00 PM, the lecture on computing resources in modern scientific research “Why is computer necessary for a physicist”.
