Students and teachers of MSU at MLIT

On 24 February 2022, the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies hosted 3-5-year students and teachers of the Department of Automated Systems for Computing Complexes of the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department Ruslan Smelyansky accompanied them.

MLIT Director Vladimir Korenkov welcomed the delegation and briefly spoke about the history of the Institute and the Laboratory of Computing Techniques and Automation (currently the Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies). MLIT Scientific Secretary Olga Derenovskaya described the major directions of MLIT activities and the components of the JINR Multifunctional Information and Computing Complex (MICC).

Igor Pelevanyuk gave the students and teachers a tour of the Laboratory and the MICC. MSU students got acquainted with the Govorun supercomputer. The museum of computer technology, located in the MLIT machine hall, aroused great interest among the students.

Maxim Zuev spoke about the architecture of the “Govorun” supercomputer and the tasks solved on it.

In conclusion, Vladimir Korenkov thanked the participants of the event and expressed hope for further development of cooperation with MSU in the future.
