JINR Newsletter #9, 11 March 2026Dear colleagues and friends, The past week was marked with the celebration of 8 March. Dear ladies, congratulations on International Women’s Day! The Joint Institute commemorates all women who have contributed to JINR’s discoveries and achievements. Researchers of the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems at JINR, together with colleagues from the Institute for Nuclear Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, discovered unique transitional ecosystem in an underground salt spring at the Baksan Neutrino Observatory, Russia. The findings include 19 genomes from different groups of bacteria. The 28th JINR Expertise for Member States and Partner Countries programme recently finished. Participants from Vietnam, Mauritania, and Turkey learned about the Institute’s role as a world-leading centre in various areas of science. Find out more in the latest JINR Newsletter.
