A report seminar of the national group of Ukraine

A traditional report seminar of the national group of Ukraine at JINR was held on 19 September 2017 in the International Conference Hall in Dubna. The seminar was opened by a welcoming speech of the Plenipotentiary representative of the government of Ukraine in JINR, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Boris Grinev, who noted that the feature of this seminar is that this year marks the 25th anniversary of Ukraine’s participation in JINR as an independent state.

The official part of the event was attended by JINR Vice-Director Mikhail Itkis and the leaders of the JINR’s Science Organization and International Cooperation Office. On behalf of the JINR Directorate, Mikhail Itkis warmly congratulated the Ukrainian colleagues on the past national holiday — the Day of Independence of Ukraine, and awarded a number of Ukrainian employees with honorary diplomas and notes of acknowledgement for the most important contribution to scientific activities of the Institute.

The seminar’s participants heard 20 reports on JINR research and scientific-methodological work of Ukrainian scientists. Among a large number of interesting reports three best were selected. All the winners were employees of the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics, in which the Ukrainian group has the broadest representation. The first place was given to Alexander Doroshkevich for the report “Development of oxide nanostructured functional environments for energy infrastructure of apartment buildings. The application of neutronography “, the second place went to Alena Kizima with the report “Prospects of C60 and C70 water solutions for the treatment of neurodegenerative and cancer diseases” and the third place — Anatoly Nagorny “Studies of the structure of aqueous ferrofluids”.

This is the seventh report seminar of the Ukrainian group, which has been held annually since 2011. As in previous years, the audience of the report seminar included directors of several JINR Laboratories and Executive Officer for the contacts between JINR and Ukraine Alexander Olshevski.
