Goals of MIC digital transformation were discussed in JINR

On 29 May 2018, participants of a special advanced course delivered by the Center for Economic Development and Certification of the Institute for Economic Strategy (CEDC INES) for managers and personnel reserve of the MIC “Strategic management” visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna. They got acquainted with work of the Laboratory of Information Technologies (LIT) JINR and discussed the strategy and tactics of digital transformation of defense enterprises with experts and representatives of Russian IT-companies.

Lit Director Vladimir Vasilievich Korenkov elaborated on the projects in which JINR participates in international cooperation. He reminded that the world-level scientific achievement, discovery of the Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider, would be impossible without the distributed infrastructure.

Deputy Director of LIT Tatiana Aleksandrovna Strizh showed the participants of the course and the centres of the Tier-1 and Tier-2 levels operating in Dubna as well as the N.N. Govorun Supercomputer that had been recently brought into operation. The participants visited the monitoring room where all the parameters of these centers are monitored in the real time mode.

Nowadays, the staff of the Laboratory is engaged in the creation of a platform for big data analysis, that is, a universal environment for solving any tasks of this kind. For example, study of the labor market was conducted not by considering the data of the Federal State Statistics Service according to which everything is always fine, but by comparing the data of educational institutions on training of specialists with vacancies posted on websites of recruitment agencies. “When we showed the results obtained by the Ministry of Labour, authorities were very surprised, – Vladimir Korenkov said. – It turned out that in some regions people are trained in specialities that are not in demand in their regions at all, while training courses for necessary specialities are not provided.”

Deputy Director-General of the VoiceLink company Roman Dushkin told to MIC representatives about operation principles of the quantum computer. This device exists hypotheticaly so far bacause technologies that allow quantum computing are still being developed.

The meeting was also attended by LIT staff members, representatives of the MIC Federal Personnel Center as well as the Shipunov Instrument Design Bureau, the Joint Stock Company “Factory of Semiconductor Devices”, JSC NPO Splav, JSC PPO EVT, the Verkhnyaya Tura Machine-Building Plant, the TulaMashZavod (Tula Machine-Building Plant), JSC “NPO Energomash”, the United Rocket and Space Corporation, TsNIIMash, the Izhevsk engine plant “Aksion holding”, the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau, the Chernyshev Moscow Machine-Building Enterprise, the “Krasnoznamyonets” Scientific Industrial Enterprise, the Verkhnyaya Salda State Plant of Chemical Tanks, JSCo «PO «Sevmash», Joint Stock Corporation “Shipbuilding & Shiprepair Technology Center”, the Efimov Development Design Office “Electroautomatics”, the Salavat Chemical Plant, the Sinvent RSC for technological systems, JSC “Institute of Nuclear Materials”, the Kazan RSC of aviation technologies, the Moscow Machine-Building Plant “AVANGARD”, JSC “RTI”, JSC Design Bureau for Special Machine-Building and others.
