Summer meeting of the PAC for Condensed Matter Physics

The 48th regular meeting of the JINR Programme Advisory Committee for Condensed Matter Physics chaired by Dénes Lajos Nagy will be held on 14 – 15 June 2018 in the International Conference Hall, Dubna.

Information on the Resolution of the 123rd session of the JINR Scientific Council (February 2018) and on the decisions of the JINR Committee of Plenipotentiaries (March 2018) as well as information on the development of JINR’s strategic long-range plan will be reported on by JINR Vice-Director B.Yu. Sharkov.

Moreover, the reports “Proton controlled high-flux pulsed neutron source for beam research” (Yu.N. Pepelyshev), “SOLCRYS — JINR’s new laboratory for structural research at the National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków” (N. Kučerka) will be delivered on the first day of the session. In addition, N.A. Russakovich will carry the report “Conceptual project of a Research Centre for Proton Therapy at JINR”. The first day agenda of the meeting also includes reports and proposals on projects and themes approved for completion in 2018 and on new projects.

The programme of the second day of the session comprises a closed meeting of the PAC members with the JINR Directorate, after which presentation of the reports by G.N. Arzumanyan, A.N. Bugay and D.V. Soloviov will be held.

The PAC meeting programme includes the traditional poster session for young scientists, awarding of the authors of the best poster presentations made at the previous PAC meeting, general discussion and adoption of the PAC recommendations.
